I’m Carll (yes with 2 l’s)
The first and most important thing about me is this: I believe we were created, not an accident. My guess is that deep down, you believe that too.
Faith is not a side note in my life. It is the foundation. I believe we were created with purpose, responsibility, and the ability to change. That belief shapes how I lead and how I coach.
I have spent my life leading in environments where clarity matters. In the Marine Corps, confusion costs lives. In schools, confusion costs young people their confidence and direction. In families and leadership, confusion leads to avoidance, resentment, and drift. My work is about helping people see clearly where they are, what matters most, and what the next right step actually is.
I believe in studying the great leaders of our past. The one who stands out most to me is Jesus. While I appreciate Marcus Aurelius, Socrates, and many others, the words Jesus spoke have led me to believe He is the greatest example of leadership we have ever seen. As He said:
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
- John 15:13 (NIV)
Leadership rooted in sacrificial love changes everything.
There is no requirement to hold a particular belief or faith to work with me. But I want you to know that His words shape how I think, how I lead, and how I coach. Prayer is part of how I approach hard decisions and difficult seasons.
Over the years, I have led Marines, built and led schools, coached fathers, students, and executives, and walked closely with people through addiction, grief, leadership pressure, and life-changing decisions. People come to me when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or responsible for others and need a steady voice that will tell them the truth without judgment.
I believe leadership starts with leading yourself. It means owning your decisions, learning from failure, and choosing courage over comfort. That belief shapes how I teach, how I coach, and how I live.
I have failed more times than I can count. You don’t get dragged to AA because you are “winning.” But I have also learned that failure does not disqualify you. Avoiding responsibility does. Growth happens when you are honest about where you are and willing to do the work to move forward. That is the space I work in with people.
If you are looking for someone to motivate you, I am not your guy. Motivation is finite. If you want someone who will listen carefully, speak honestly, and help you take ownership of your life, leadership, or family with clarity and faith, I would be honored to walk with you.
My family and my why
Brotherhood is everything to me. So much so, that I married my best friend in the Corps' little sister…Ultimate revenge! (Me and my brother in law, Justin-Major-USMC-V-22 Pilot)
“A cheerful heart is good medicine.”
- Proverbs 17:22
My father, pictured here, was far from perfect, but he taught me what it meant to be a man.
He was highly successful in business and a former fighter pilot in the Air Force. In fifth grade, he had me stand at a whiteboard and write the words honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity. He made me memorize their definitions and told me these would be my core values. I am incredibly grateful for those lessons, because I needed them later when things got complicated and he left in sixth grade.
He has since passed from cancer, but making him the best man at my wedding and being able to wear my uniform was one of the greatest honors of my life.
Let’s get to work
(Maybe even have some fun doing it.)
Hebrews 12:11
“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”
